Survey meter is designed for search, detection and localization of gamma and beta radiation sources.
Survey Meter measures beta radiation flux density from contaminated surfaces and ambient dose equivalent rate of gamma and X-ray radiation.
Instrument alerts the user with audible alarms when preset radiation thresholds are exceeded and registers with audio signal every detected count in a search mode.
Instrument is recommended for first responders, customs and border officers, radiological and radionuclide isotope laboratories, bank personnel.
Operation Principle
Survey meter РМ1405 incorporates a large energy compensated GM tube for precise measurement of the ambient equivalent dose rate of the X-ray and gamma radiation in the range from background level to 100 mSv/h (10 R/h).
By opening the special screen-filter and choosing beta radiation flux density measurement mode, the instrument allows to estimate the intensity of the contamination of surfaces of various environmental objects from beta radiation sources.
Instrument have small size and lightweight, large LCD display with backlight, audible alarm, non-volatile memory.
User software for PM1405 allows:
Reading out events from the instrument non-volatile memory;
Conducting on-line real time measurement and displaying the results in digital mode;
Read/record operation settings;
Save measurement history on PC (history export);
Warning about probability of radiation contamination.
Detector Geiger-Muller counter
